ICPU - A New Lifestyle?

Sooooo sorry, guys, that I didn't post anything which I was supposed to the day before yesterday. Blargh. I'm waiting for my laptop to come. D: Here goes~

12/1/2010 - I Come in Peace.

ICPU orientation was over. So what do I think, you ask? Simple. One word would be sufficient to express my feelings for the whole day.

ALIEN.

Everything was. :D And that's just the beginning of it. During the morning, we reached the gates of Taylor's College early and I went to the Student Central to change my Taylor's free clothes' size. After that, my cousin and I went and took a tour around Taylor, which only ended up taking 10 minutes or 15. When people finally entered the Lecture Hall, we went in too, and well, it's just a normal feeling. Didn't feel anything much yet at that time cause I used to see such a hall before when I was interviewed for the Japan Homestay thingie.

When orientation began, the principal gave a few words, and so were the school's extra curricular+UBK+etc and librarian. Then, we were brought to The WEB, where Taylorians use free internet service there with the provided computers. We were taught how to use the Student Portal website, as well as stuffs about our username and password. Ends up, my username did not turn up because I just registered myself last Friday. -.-;;

However, after that, we went to take our timetables, and there you go. There goes the orientation day. What was alien about that? Now that you mentioned it, I don't know. xD;; I guess, it's just that you don't see people who you know anymore, and it's like an outer space planet to you. No Kwang Huarians except for my cousin and I. Not even 1 person do we recognize from the 150 students sitting there.

...maybe I've just forgotten how it feels like having no one you know around you. Of course, Kai is an exception. =P

13/1/2010 - Breathtaking!

So today's the first day of class. The first day of a brand new life. How was it again, you ask?

WOW.

ICPU life was definitely so much more different from high school life. First of all, the people. ICPU probably has more foreigner students than SAM, but I'm not sure about A Levels. At least, in all 3 of my classes, there are about 20% of them who are foreigners. Tasmanians, Koreans, etc. And well, I thought that ICPU students are actually more "englishly"-spoken. Students there who don't speak English are hard to find. Occasionally you would meet some who do know Chinese, but they would prefer speaking in English in the end. I don't know why, it just makes me feel like that. And... ICPU people are gang-ed people, at least after the first day of class. My brother said that in ICPU, no gangs existed so that might change after a while. But overall, yeah, the people are like that.

Secondly, the teachers. My Maths teacher, Mrs. Tan was a...how should I say it? She never did wipe off her smile from her face, ever. But somehow, she still had this scary aura about her. I don't know, might be that the first day, first impressions are always a little different from later impressions. And now that I think about her requirements on our homework, I can always feel a little shiver about my body. Lets just say she ask quite a lot. =] My Biology teacher was somewhat similar to Mrs. Tan. Her name was...was...Kvetuse Fikar, so we just call her Ms. Fikar since she didn't want to tell us the pronounciation. When I first saw her, I saw an old woman who doesn't really have a strong body. xD But ends up, she gave me an even scarier feeling. @.@ Don't get me wrong, but well... She didn't smile as much, and maybe particularly because my Biology wasn't all that good, I find her to be a little scary, especially when she explained about her "Dot System". Basically, it's just that every student was already given 20 marks in the final scores. But for every mistakes like uncontrolled absence, homeworks not passed up or brought, etc, we'll be deducted by one mark. And the way she said that was just scary. x.x Next was my English teacher. And wow, I've gotta say something on this one. I ABSOLUTELY ENJOYED MY FIRST DAY OF ENGLISH. Sherene, Chua and Kai would most probably be bored if they need to read this again. xP I won't describe how he's like, but here's what Mr. Stephen Wise taught us to do today.

The first thing he said in class was, "The subject English doesn't really have a good title. I mean, English is made up of so many things, grammar, vocabulary, oral, etc." I was like, yeah, I agree with that. First time I've heard something like this and I agreed with it immediately. Then, next thing was, he wanted to mark our attendance and get to know us. "I'm sorry, guys, but this is the part where I shall butcher your Asian names." Lol. That was funny. xD But yeah. Next up, he passed to every one of us a piece of paper, printed in both pages. The first page was just a simple page about ourself. We have to fill up particulars about ourself so that the teacher would get to know us better. However, the main thing was the second page. Mr. Wise came up with this idea to make us bond with the classmates, and I guess to see how we perform when we were asked to speak publicly too, I guess. It was a page where you are required to interview the person sitting opposite of you. The questions are like, "What's her name? Where she's from?" and "Does she plan to marry? How many children does she want to have?" Lol. So basically, after interviewing the person opposite of you, you have to stand up and, in turn, introduce that friend of yours to the whole class. I like the idea a lot, actually. But at that time, it was just a little too shocking. @.@ I'm nervous, you can't blame me for being nervous at speaking loudly to the whole class of 20 students.

But that was actually fun, in the end. We were only able to finish half of the class. I was able to present as well, and I appreciate that Mr. Wise said that I was natural, and through that little introduction of my friend, he was also able to see what sort of person am I, and that's good(Also that I have good humor :3 When I said unfortunately for the guys, she doesn't plan to get marry...yet.). So, seriously, who wouldn't enjoy English class? x3 After that, Mr. Wise used the remaining 10 minutes to show us one of his blog post, and even introduced his 2 sons and 1 daughter for us.

Third thing is, friends. Yeah sure, I've made a few friends today. Nope, not friends yet, just accomplices. During Maths lesson, unfortunately, everyone was too shy to talk at all, since it's the first period. During Biology class, Ms. Fikar asked me to sit beside this Tasmanian girl. At first she looked as if she was irritated to have me sit with her, so I was kinda scared of her. >.<>

Fourth thing is, the timetable. My timetable for the semester was one heck of a timetable. Just for fun, look at this.

8am - 9.15am => Advanced Functions. (Maths)
9.15am - 11.45am => BREAKTIME. (My GOD! 2.5hours!)
11.45am - 1pm => Biology.
1pm - 2.15pm => English 4U.

Wow. And that's it. My timetable until June. I don't know what to say about it. It's flexible, but the breaktime was a little tooooooooooo long. @.@ But ah well, I can't complain. =] Having breaktime after Maths lesson was a good thing. I'd be able to finish my homework the moment our teacher gave it to us.

Anyways, that's all folks! After school, some things did happen too, of course, with me, Chua, Sherene and Choon Zhui. But lazy to type them. xP So, that's all!

And LUZ IS BACK~

Everything's different , xoxo
