Knowing that all of my readers are complaining... xD I decided to just have something random up. Gosh. I don't even know what to write nowadays... >>;; The only stuff that came to my mind is the one Sher wrote about, the names thingie. Alright, if people insist on something, I shall write on that one! =D...only with more crappy rants. xD
So, all of these crazy things came about from one small conversation between Hng, Ivy and I during EST class.
It all started with a wonderful day, with the usual ignore-the-teacher-teaching things, as well as try-to-skip-any-homework-if-possible day. However, during the extra period, something interesting happened. =D
Well, for some reasons, Hng had been calling Ivy as Elmo from Sesame Street since...a long time ago. She even go to the extent to replace Ivy's name as Elmo in her essay about Chua. -.-;; So, Ivy needed revenge, and ends up, Hng got her new name: Big Bird, which sounds wrong in some way. xD But please don't do so. It purely means the huuuuuuuuuge yellow thing that narrates Sesame Street whenever it starts... [I think. It's been centuries since I've last watched that darn thing! 8D]
So, the two of them enjoyed almost every moment of calling each other characters from Sesame Street. And then... *thunders* I was involved. xD I don't really recall what happen at that time, but then, Hng started out by calling me Oscar, the rubbish-obsessed...thing, also from Sesame Street. And I told them I preferred Cookie Monster, so ends up, we just keep calling each other with Sesame Street names.
Since the three of us [Hng, Ivy and I] are joining a competition as a team, I suggested to them "Sesame Street" as the name for our team, if any is needed. So, etc. Loads of laughters then, and well... This came along. =D
I couldn't be quite sure how it had happened, but I know it all starts off by me, calling Hng by the translated Big Bird name: 大鸟. Okay, I know, it's horrid. >>;; So, we ended up changing it a little, and turned out to be 巨鸟, which is just as bad. But still, I was quick enough to label Hng's pen with that new name and so, she was officially named that. xD Next up, was my turn. I was Cookie Monster, so without any delays, I just labeled my pen with my new name: 饼干妖怪. [Hng prefers 饼干怪兽 though... >>;;] And, last but not least, Ivy was named as '艾莫'能助. [translated from Elmo]
So, the moments of translating random cartoon names into Chinese names are pretty amusing, so I wanted to do something more. xD And, Hng got herself another name: 夫娜方婉暄. 夫娜 is from her given nickname Fiona... xD ...which she and her sister hates. But still, it's enjoyable to see how much she suffers whenever she heard that name. But... She hates it, and for some reasons, Ivy enjoys calling "Fi Na Fang" instead of the one I gave her, so ends up, her Chinese nickname is a word that has never existed in any Chinese dictionary!! =O
And, next up, Ivy was translated into 爱比扬詠雯. [Ivy, the 'yong' cannot find one if you know what I mean, so I use oooold Chinese one. xD] And that's when the fun begins. xD We all began laughing a lot, and ends up, we began to translate Ah Oh and Soon Kit's names too. Ah Oh, whose nickname given by himself is Abner [derived from 'abnormal', I assure you. =D], was named 爱那胡楚峰. And next up was Soon Kit, whose nickname given by us is Adam, ends up having a name like 亚当陈顺杰. Chua named herself Evelyn, so we shortened it[Eve], and named her like how her name should be: 下挖蔡馨仪. [I was gonna write it like 下挖采one loh... But seriously, lol, I don't know how to write the exact Xia Wa. So, ya. xD ]
We had loads of fun. So, we continued this little activity until the next day of school, to share it with everyone. We started with Sherene, since she's the only one left in the gang without a stupidly-translated-nickname. xD I looked at her, and called her Wendy. So she ends up being 闻地萧思菱. The next victim that came to my mind was Sze Yin. Once again, I look at her and said, "Betty." LOL. That was my proudest work of all. xD So, her name ends up being 被地郑诗韵. Lol. If possible, I would like to write her name as 被地震 [Betty Teh], but nope, I wasn't allowed to change the writing of her surname. D:
The next victim is Joanne Alorr, a.k.a. Roasted Duck. Since she calls herself Joanne, I translated her name into a...less funny one. D: 着安李盈慧. After Joanne, it's time for Jia Ying to have hers as well. xD We took quite some time to come up with a name, and in the end, I came up with Julia. xD Her translated name is the funniest I can think of, and I'm proud of it. =P 朱腊黄佳盈. [not too sure with the Chinese words. ^^;;] Sitting right beside Jia Ying is Pek Shian, with her own nickname Shirley, so yes. This one's from Sherene if I remembered correctly, but I'm not too sure. >>;; 色力李碧贤. We ended up calling her 色力力, because it's easier to call. =D And lastly, Poh Yan who sits between Joanne and Sze Yin was given the name Jessie, even though I'm pretty sure she wasn't aware of it. xD Hng, or someone else translated this into 鸡丝颜Bao Yan. [not too sure about her Chinese writing. xD;;]
So, all in all, it was all a crazy time. What was I named? Of course, almost everyone now knew me as Maggie Lee, so I told Hng the obvious: Maggie is 美奇 in Chinese, but she said it's too good, if compared to everyone else. So, I suggested to her myself in the end, to call myself... Mochi Lee. =D
So basically, here's a summary of everyone's names. =D
i) Maggie Lee Ling Wei - Mochi Lee. [not too sure about the Chinese wordings. T_T]
ii) Fiona Hng Wan Hsuen - Fi Na Fang. [original: 夫娜方婉暄]
iii) Ivy Yong Yoon Voon - 爱比扬詠雯
iv) Abner Oh Choor Hong - 爱那胡楚峰 [now that I think about it, it literally means love that Oh Choor Hong. OMG.]
v) Adam Tan Soon Kit - 亚当陈顺杰 [Adam...]
vi) Eve [Evelyn] Chua Xin Yi - 下挖蔡馨仪 [...and Eve! xD]
vii) Wendy Siao Sherene - 闻地萧思菱 [sounds like some sort of seals or talismans. >>;;]
viii) Betty Teh Sze Yin - 被地郑诗韵 [supposedly: 被地震诗韵 T_T]
ix) Joanne Lee Yin Hui - 着安李盈慧
x) Julia Ng Jia Ying - 朱腊黄佳盈 [Damn, I'm proud of this. =D]
xi) Shirley Lee Pek Shian - 色力李碧贤 [but modified into: 色力力碧贤 xP]
xii) Jessie Gan Poh Yan - 鸡丝颜Bao Yan
