The Trip to Typhoo- I mean, Taiwan~

Title: The Trip to Typhoo- I mean, Taiwan~

I adore the title of this post. xD And in truth, Taiwan trip is a little bit...disappointing. No surprise if you actually go along with us. I can't say it's because Taiwan is boring, etc. Because it's not. Mainly because, typhoon has invaded Taiwan when we went there, so we had to skip few of the best places in Taiwan. Yes, it's sad news. But overall, many people said I'm crazy, but I thought the typhoon experience was great. But I still feel sorry for the victims who died during this typhoon incident, I heard there were two. According to the Taiwanese, this typhoon is the by far, the worst one this year. I don't know if you guys know how to differentiate the typhoons according to their grades, but we've managed to experience a 11th grade typhoon in Hualian, and a weaker 9th grade typhoon in Taitong. I'll explain more on this later. But for now, off to the Taiwan trip! This is going to be a looooooong post, I know it. =D

1st day: Friday, 26th September 2008.
We arrived at the airport too early, man! Ends up we have to wait for the other people to arrive, and we've wasted nearly an hour there! Not only that, I have to throw away my lovely, cherished scissors, glue and stapler. Everytime I go out for trips, I will always bring along my dear pencil box, and ends up, I lose all my precious stuffs in my pencil box. ='( I've had it quite some time now, while trying to get through the X-ray machine thingie, my scissors will be taken away. And right now, before we even got as far as that, I just recalled of my scissors and stuff. I was scolded by my mother for bringing along my pencil box, and sad to see my scissors enter the dustbin. Sigh... Moving along~

I hate airplanes. Never liked the journey. One word to describe it all: suffering. So, we'll skip the suffering part. When we got to Taiwan, we saw the temperature and are like, "Oh man! We're back in Malaysia!" 27 degrees Celsius. Disappointed, all of us entered the bus and let the bus take us back to the hotel, so called Paradise Hotel. We have the night to ourselves, so we traveled around the area, hunting for food. We stopped by at a beef restaurant, and my mum can't eat anything, 'cause it's beef. So, anyways, after that, we got to the OK Mart, something like 99. We saw loads of drinks that were strangers to us, and I brought one, since I love the bottle design. But when I drank it back at the hotel, I threw it away. Lol. It sucks. I wanted to bring the bottle back, but I forgot. D:

We spent the night watching 黄金甲, and mocking Jay Chou's acting. I slept the earliest, so I know of no stories later on.

2nd day: Saturday, 27th September 2008.
So, we just got to Taipei, but we had to leave again today. To Hualian! I heard Hualian was beautiful, so I was enthusiastic. People come to Taiwan to makan, I come to Taiwan to see and play. So, we stopped by at some highland market area, and tasted some lovely Muaji. Then we brought loads of biscuits, etc. I ate something cool too! It's potato, similar to french fries, but it was rolled! I don't know how to describe... *grumbles* Should have taken down the picture, but I forgot. T_T

Anyways, after that, we continued our journey to Hualian. I slept during the trip, so I had no idea what happened. Then, we stopped by at this place called SuAo for toilet. =P There was this praying festival going on so the bus can't move and we had to walk towards the toilet. -.-' All this for a toilet. Anyways, it was crowded and etc. Nothing to comment there. After we got to the toilet, we went into 7 Eleven. Ian and I looked around for drinks, and my eyes caught something. I saw Jay Chou on a Sprite bottle. Ian seemed happy, and bought it. I even saw a Leehom bottle, Ian said he would buy it back for Shin Bee, but he forgot. =P

Going on... The journey to Hualian was quite fascinating. Since Taiwan is mostly mountains, and below the mountains, there was no plain fields, but right away, the sea. Well, it's only in the east though. Imagine it yourself, the roads' like Genting roads, but instead of other mountains beside you, it's all sea. So, if you accidentally hit something, your bus will drop right into the sea. Nice, eh? >=D But the sea is beautiful, wonderful. Ian caught a few pictures, I'll post them up next time.

We finally got to Hualian by evening. And, during the journey to the restaurant, this kid in our tour saw the traffic light shaking. The tour guide joked around saying that the traffic light isn't waving at us, but it's shaking because of the wind. Yes, all the streetlamps and traffic lights are already shaking. We ate, and returned to the hotel. But before we got back to the hotel, we were brought to spectate this dance by the 原住民. After back at the hotel, we headed out for some 小吃, and the Dimsum is damn cheap, guys!! One plate of 水饺 only costs 40 yuan, which is rm4. And one plate consists of 10 水饺!! Ian heard until 4, so he ordered 4 plates, and, lol. We had to finish 40 水饺. xD But it's damn cheap, guys. The 小龙包 only costs 5 yuan each, meaning 50 cents. It's cheap, man! Then, when we got back home, mum and I and Ian watched the news and was shocked to hear the news on the typhoon coming tomorrow. But on the other hand, we're excited as well. The news said that few places like SuAo, Hualian will kena very badly, so we're even more excited. =P

3rd day: Sunday, 28th September 2008.
So... We did a little visiting around Hualian today, and left Hualian at around 10am or so. The typhoon, according to the news, is coming at around 2pm. So, we're kinda like running away from the typhoon. Oh, yeah, wait!! That morning, we experienced a little bit of the typhoon. In truth, during midnight, we already did. According to the tour guide, this isn't the typhoon at all. It's the winds BEFORE the typhoons come, get what I mean? And even though it's not the typhoon at all, it's already 11th grade. How bad is it? I'll try describing. Imagine yourself inside the hotel lobby, and the door of the entrance is those kind of glass door you have to push, and need quite some energy. Well, the wind can push it open quite easily. The workers have to put cardboards all around the windows too, to prevent the glass from breaking. And when we're on the bus, imagine the bus shaking while moving. Yeah, that's 11th grade, and the winds BEFORE the typhoon. *nods* We didn't managed to catch a video, but I think I got one, of Ian and the other two kids in our tour, trying to get out of the jade museum, when the typhoon is out there. I'll get all of them up tomorrow.

Then, we escape from Hualian and the tour guide declared to us. He said we're supposed to head to Gaoshiung today, but because of the typhoon, most of the roads have been closed. You know why? Mini mudslides. Wow, imagine our bus experiencing that during our journey. =O So, we stopped by at this rural area around Taitong. A chalet called Master Bear Resort. Yes, rural area + wood houses. That's where we're staying. But do not look down at it! The room's perfect. =P And I managed to catch a short 1 minute video of the typhoon winds that invaded that area. In truth, as I mentioned before, Taitong only had 9th grade typhoon. But Master Bear Resort, even though in Taitong, was even weaker. Reason is because we're in between two mountains, so Master Bear Resort was practically one of the safest place in Taiwan at that moment. But the winds are not to be underestimated, guys. I'll show the video tomorrow. =)

The adults partied along that day, and the kids? Well, we play those game machines of course. Metal Slug, shooting games, basketball. All those stuffs. Then, we even put up some fireworks the bus driver bought for us. Lol, while people are busy hiding from typhoon, we're shooting fireworks? The irony! And then, Ian, mum and I head back to our room and ate LOADS of snacks we bought. And guess what? The place that got the typhoon most is SuAo, and yes, I've just been there yesterday! 17th grade! Can you believe it?! Hualian got to 13th grade, I think. Or 15th. *shrugs*

So, overall, we've wasted this day because of the typhoon. *shrugs*

4th day: Monday, 29th September 2008.
This morning, the news came out and the typhoon is calmer now. Gonna leave Taiwan soon, but not quite yet. The aftermath is somewhat shocking. Streetlamps fell, trees, of course, and a girl even flew away from her motorbike. Scary.

We headed out from Master Bear Resort, and went right ahead to GaoShiung. The journey took about a few hours, so we all just sleep there. And... What more to say? Nothing much I guess. When we got to GaoShiung, we went to this shopping mall, and

5th day: Tuesday, 30th September 2008.
We got up damn early today, morning call at 4.30am, and headed out from hotel at 5am. The journey back to Taipei took around 5 hours. So, we reached there around 10am. We did a little sightseeing there, but I'll explain more tomorrow. *yawns*

6th day: Wednesday, 1st October 2008.
Back to Malaysia! So, got up at 4.30 am again and to the airport. Goodbye, Taiwan! Goodbye, typhoon! Hello, Malaysia!

*yawns* Before I go, more reading for you guys. My reply to the rp, it's a long post guys!:

Well, it was obvious. Kittens by the streets have no names at
all, but actually, it was all from the perspectives of humans.
They have names, in truth, but in a way that is hard for the
humans to interpret and remember, pronounce it, etc. Coren
was his human name. Easy to remember and pronounce.
Well, she did have a point there, the fact that she did found
him by the streets. However, his little dignity forced himself to
cover up this humiliation. "Well, do those kittens
talk? At least with human language." He said, turning his
head around to scan through the room. He needed to find
somewhere to rest, and hide for these few days. Somewhere
where the raven can never spot him, or sense him at all.
Besides, the color of the wall is dark, so it matches with his
color, unlike the other rooms in the house. It's perfect as his
hiding place. Content, he turned his eyes back on her,
enjoying the moments while she rubbed against his fur. He
almost purred but found it to be most embarrassing so he
merely kept quiet about it.

It seemed the girl, Kaila responded in a way that Coren less
expected. At least, she didn't jump or shout or anything when
she saw him speak. Good for a starter. He used to talk to
other humans he met in this dimension, and all of them ran
away, shouting words like they've just met some evil spirit in
a cat's body. However, her surprise was written all over her
face, so it was obvious for Coren to let her mind accept
those facts first before continuing to speak.

But, it seemed there wasn't this chance. Someone was
back, and from her reactions, Coren knew it was someone
who will not be happy to see him here. She hid him under her
blanket and rushed to the couch. The door opened, and
there revealed a man, middle-aged, and stink of wine. Coren
shuddered at the scent of this man, but kept completely quiet
as he tried to peek through the blanket. From what Kaila was
doing and saying, it was all too obvious that the man was no
one but her father. However, it wasn't all too surprising to see
her hug get countered off with something like a slap. Coren's
eyes twitched a little as Kaila fell onto the ground. It wasn't
some serious injuries, but it sure felt pain to be beaten by
someone you should love.

Whatever happened later on, Coren didn't manage to see it.
He was recalling of the princess, the princess of Atylia and
the words she used to tell him. She used to tell him of her
thoughts about her parents. To her, her parents were
just...people there. They don't really mean anything to her.
Everytime they see her, they talk to her about her future
marriage and how her gifts can help Atylia to a glorious
future. The princess even said to Coren, that the only one
she truly think of as a family, is Coren himself. Coren was her
personal bodyguard, so he spends all his time with her back
at Atylia. But he failed his duties when the enemy country
ambushed the castle during midnight. A series of unfortunate
events[lol] happened, and the princess was lost, in this
dimension. Coren had to leave Atylia to bring her back. And
it has been for 2 years now. The princess's life or death was
unconfirmed too. What would he do if he found the princess
dead? He never wanted to give any thoughts to that, at all.

As the door was slammed shut, Coren snapped back from
his reminisce. He crawled a little and poked his head out of
the blanket, and saw Kaila crying on the floor. He will not
disturb her, because he knew it was back to let her be like
that first for now. A minute later, she came to lift off the
blanket with a swollen cheek. Coren stood up and shook his
fur a little, tidying them after the mess the blanket made him.
"Not the fatherly sort of father, it seems." He said,
finally turning his eyes from his fur to Kaila. Looking at her
face reminded him of the princess, and at times like these,
he would tell the princess of stories he heard, and she would
smile. But as for Kaila, he knew nothing of how to cheer her
up.

Like I said, a looooooooong post on Taiwan and a looong reply. =P I will not pay for any medical fees for your eyes, people!
